Beginning summer 2025, Texas A&M University will offer 75 high school students a 3-week civics-focused residential experience through the Bush School of Government and Public Service. Made possible with support from the Texas Pioneer Foundation, the program will be held annually each summer. Students will focus on civics and public service by building relationships with academic and community experts in a variety of fields while also engaging in activities that might include:

  • Visiting elected leaders at the State Capitol
  • Problem-solving to create solutions to Texas-specific issues
  • Building public concern campaigns
  • Building local mock political campaigns
  • Participating in a college-level book study
  • Building leadership through Outdoor Education Experiences

Applications open Oct. 1 each year, and students are responsible for securing a $400 sponsorship to support their attendance. All other expenses are covered by the program.
